I've got a fairly large music collection, much of which has come from sailing the high seas. Match will only do this for music in your library that it can also identify in the iTunes store.
ITUNES MATCH DATA USAGE UPGRADE
As advertised, Match will look at your music library, find songs with lower bitrates, and upgrade them to iTunes standard (320kbps) Edit: Correction, 256kbps AAC version for free. I'm more interested in Match's other functionality, which is increasing the bitrate of the songs in your music library.
ITUNES MATCH DATA USAGE FREE
It saves your music in butt storage (this storage is free with Match) and makes it available to all devices registered to your Apple ID. I'm looking at getting iTunes Match, which is Apple's butt music storage service. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc. If you'd like to view their content together, click here.
